Business Development
While KCEDA works primarily with established companies, we also work closely with the South Central Oregon Economic Development District (SCOEDD) to help build and finance small and start-up businesses locally. The SCOEDD program includes:
- Business Plan Development Training - Training classes include Business Readiness, to assess the feasibility of your concept, and Planning and Managing Your Small Business to help you research and write your business plan and learn about financing and basic business operations.
- A Mentoring Program - This program pairs each graduate of the training program with a successful business person. You will work with your mentor for six months as you strengthen your business.
- A Loan Program - Helps finance your business plan and includes ongoing counseling. For more details and application forms see the SCOEDD Business Loan Information page.

Grants and Loans
KCEDA also works closely with and facilitates the South Central Oregon Regional Investment Board. In the 2009-2011 biennium, for example, the Board managed $432,629 in Oregon State Lottery proceeds for local economic development projects in Klamath County. The Board made these funds available as grants and loans to projects that demonstrate, in measurable terms, achievement of regional economic and community development goals.
